Artist's Comments

A piece I finished recently based on the story of Snow White, it is one of a series I've been working on to develop a more graphic art style that balances line and value.

12" x 8'; Ink, marker, and colored pencil on Bristol

From rough sketch to finish in a little less than a week. Took about four days to design and layout, a day to clean up and transfer to the final ground, and it was taken from pencil to finish in about 6 hours.

Unlike my classically inspired work, this piece was drawn completely from my imagination with no photo, or other direct reference.

This one would be fun to color too.

I haven't posted in so long, I may have to take a day or two to get the size and resolution right. Also the values are pretty washed out in the scan.

It's great to see your illustrative work on here, I really like the sense of levity.

NOW ALL YOU NEED IS AN INCH-WIDE SHARPIE LINE TO DEFINE THE CHARACTERS! mwa-hahahaha

So, after our phone conversation on the 24th I finally had a chance to check out your work. I can see here all the requirements you mentioned! As an editor, of course I noticed the sampler with the spelling error. :) I also took note of the left-handed fiddler, which I think is fairly rare.

It was my opinion that poor Miss White would probably suffer in the spelling area, what with being raised in a miner's hut.
